After several years of drought, the 2017 growing season was strong with a cool, slow harvest which allowed red grapes to ripen gradually –developing aromatic notes and a nice acidity. The Cabernet in this Red Blend is sourced from exceptional vineyards from microclimates all over the Napa Valley. The Petite Sirah brings a rich color along with structured yet velvety, smooth tannins. This is a full-bodied, fruit-driven wine with rich and juicy flavors of dark black and red fruit along with satisfying notes of dark spice. Well-balanced with a long, warm finish.
This limited production of 70 cases spent 18 months on 40% new French oak. The aging potential is 7-10 years.
Jamieson Ranch Vineyards is named after an historic rancher who helped to settle the Napa Valley. Today, we pay homage to the rich ranching tradition of the Napa Valley through the names of our wines. The name Versada means to traverse or travel, and we honor the ranchers, cowboys and horses that traveled to the American West and played an important role in making the Napa Valley what it is today. Like those horses, our Versada wines are commanding and elegant.
