The JRV Estate Viognier is a classic representation of the elegant, floral varietal. Moderate climate and cool breezes are the perfect components to accentuate its delicate lush aromas and display a hint of mineral texture that makes this wine perfect for summer. Layers of freshly cut honeysuckle and meyer lemon fill the palate, leaving a trace of French oak on the finish.
The 2013 season got off to an early start and ran early all the way until harvest. There was even flowering, veraison and very uniform ripening. While summer offered an abundance of sunshine, temperatures rarely spiked above the mid-'90s. And except for a few sprinkles, the early fall rains that plagued so many recent harvests never arrived, allowing for a slightly earlier ripening.
